MKE Votes was an art project designed to raise awareness and inspire people through art activations for the 2020 election in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. One of the biggest themes we heard when talking to people was that they didn’t feel their vote mattered. We created the activations to highlight local heroes in the community doing the work by participating in events throughout the city. We partnered with the organizations EXPO Wisconsin, NO Studios, Souls to the Polls, and Voces de la Frontera.
We then took the project to Atlanta, Georgia, for the Senate Runoff Election. There, we worked with grassroots organizations and local artists.
