When I learned that my studio did not recycle clay scraps, I started to use them for projects. Out of this exercise grew a series of bowls where I rolled out the scraps using a slab roller. I kept the edges live and allowed the pieces to crack. For the glazes I dripped and blended colors. Some of the pieces reminded me of specific locations in California such as June Lake in the Eastern Sierras.
