As part of an art installation performance, I recreated the migration journey of my great-grandfather, who migrated from Ukraine to the United States of America at the turn of the last century when he was just 15 years old. The story I presented is based on post-memory and reflects the pain, adversity, and obstacles he faced. The clarity of the shadows in the performance comes in and out of focus, mirroring my understanding of his story. The performance includes a wordless score with sound effects to mark significant moments along his journey. I wrote the soundtrack while Luke Armstrong scored it.
